I’m reading from the Psalms today, 146 – 148, part of the closing section of five Psalms dedicated to praise. Each one starts and ends with the exhortation to “Praise the LORD!
Here’s how each opens:
Psalm 146:1,2
Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD, O my soul! I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
Psalm 147:1
Praise the LORD!
For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.
Psalm 148:1-4
Praise the LORD!
Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise Him in the heights!
Praise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His hosts!
Praise Him, sun and moon, praise Him, all you shining stars!
Praise Him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens!
