The Onset of Summer

Good things are happening, leading us to summer.

  • The birds are back making nests, and I had to fill the bird feeder for the first time this year.  It was still full when I left last week for Philly.
  • The Tigers are 6-2, hitting well, with good relief pitching.  Their only weak spot so far this year seems to be their starting pitching, which is supposed to be their greatest strength.  It should come around.
  • The Red Wings start their playoff series tomorrow, and were on a hot streak to end the regular season.
  • The Pistons’ season is over tomorrow, which usually happens in June.  So they’re a bit early this year.  That’s OK, we have other things going.
  • Tax season is over Thursday.  That’s GREAT – Denise will be happier.

But the biggest indicator that summer is on the way quickly is that the boat lift and dock went in today.  If the weather is good, we may even uncrate the boat and get it in this weekend.  I wanted to get a picture of the guys putting them in, but they were too fast for me.  The water was REALLY COLD.
