What we sing becomes what we believe

“The songs your church sings disciple the congregation. So give them good stuff. Feed them the truth. Teach them hearty doctrine. Remind them of what God has done. Tell them what they have to look forward to. But also give them songs that help them respond. Songs that shape the way they respond so they’re being conformed to His image. And songs that let them lament, confess, and vent, all in the context of God’s trustworthiness to carry them through it. Giving your congregation a healthy diet of music to sing is a hugely important aspect of their discipleship. They may not know it, but it sticks with them.”

This quote came in a series of tweets by David Regier, here.
