Christians, dismiss your fear! \u00a0The Lord is risen indeed!<\/strong><\/p>\n

This hymn text comes from Gadsby’s Hymns (#487), and was written by Joseph Hart on the subject of Christ’s resurrection. \u00a0I think it could be sung quite easily (and successfully) to the same tune used for “Crown Him With Many Crowns” by grouping the eight verses into four. \u00a0Sing it silently, to yourself, now, or better yet, sing it at the top of your lungs, proclaiming its message to those around you! \u00a0“Let every breast with gladness glow,\u00a0And every mouth sing praise.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Christians, dismiss your fear;
\nLet hope and joy succeed;
\nThe great good news with gladness hear,
\nThe Lord is risen indeed.<\/p>\n

The shades of death withdrawn,
\nHis eyes their beams display;
\nSo wakes the sun, when rosy dawn
\nUnbars the gates of day.<\/p>\n

The promise is fulfilled;
\nSalvation’s work is done;
\nJustice with mercy’s reconciled,
\nAnd God has raised His Son.<\/p>\n

He quits the dark abode,
\nFrom all corruption free;
\nThe holy, harmless Child of God
\nCould no corruption see.<\/p>\n

Angels, with saints above,
\nThe rising Victor sing;
\nAnd all the blissful seats of love
\nWith loud hosannas ring.<\/p>\n

Ye pilgrims, too, below,
\nYour hearts and voices raise;
\nLet every breast with gladness glow,
\nAnd every mouth sing praise.<\/p>\n

My soul, thy Saviour laud,
\nWho all thy sorrows bore;
\nWho died for sin, but lives to God,
\nAnd lives to die no more.<\/p>\n

His death procured the peace,
\nHis\u00a0resurrection’s thine;
\nBelieve; receive the full release;
\n‘Tis signed with blood divine.<\/p>\n
