{"id":959,"date":"2012-03-03T12:21:21","date_gmt":"2012-03-03T17:21:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/?p=959"},"modified":"2012-03-03T12:21:21","modified_gmt":"2012-03-03T17:21:21","slug":"it-snowed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/2012\/03\/03\/it-snowed\/","title":{"rendered":"It Snowed!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It snowed last night here in northern Michigan.\u00a0 That&#8217;s not an unusual occurrence most years, but I think we got as much last night as we have all winter so far.\u00a0 It got me to thinking as I looked outside and actually ventured out to take pictures.\u00a0 (No, I don&#8217;t shovel much, so that wasn&#8217;t on my agenda.)<\/p>\n<p>One of the first things I saw were the cedar trees along the trail behind the house.\u00a0 They were bowed under the weight of the snow, and my immediate thought was that they were bowed in worship at the wonder of God&#8217;s creation.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/P1080664.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-960\" title=\"The trees will bow down\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/P1080664.jpg?resize=640%2C480&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/P1080664.jpg?resize=1024%2C768&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/P1080664.jpg?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/P1080664.jpg?resize=150%2C112&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/P1080664.jpg?resize=400%2C300&amp;ssl=1 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/P1080664.jpg?w=1560&amp;ssl=1 1560w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/P1080664.jpg?w=2340&amp;ssl=1 2340w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Then I walked to the front of the house and saw these birds sitting on a branch looking out over the lake and was reminded how God cares for them, and even more for us.\u00a0 He protected them through the storm, kept them, and now they&#8217;re out and about, ready for another day.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Matthew%206:25-34&amp;version=ESV\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew<\/a> said it like this: &#8220;Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. written by James Nicholson in 1872.<\/p>\n<p>Lord Jesus, I long to be perfectly whole;<br \/>\nI want Thee forever to live in my soul.<br \/>\nBreak down every idol, cast out every foe;<br \/>\nNow wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.<\/p>\n<p>Whiter than snow, yes, whiter than snow.<br \/>\nNow wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Isaiah+1:18&amp;version=ESV\" target=\"_blank\">Isaiah <\/a>said it like this: &#8220;Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
