{"id":70,"date":"2010-03-29T18:20:23","date_gmt":"2010-03-29T22:20:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/?p=70"},"modified":"2010-03-29T18:15:43","modified_gmt":"2010-03-29T22:15:43","slug":"hosanna-or-no-sanna","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/2010\/03\/29\/hosanna-or-no-sanna\/","title":{"rendered":"Hosanna or No-sanna?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On which side of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.netbloghost.com\/fredbock\/?p=101\" target=\"_self\">coin <\/a>was your church yesterday?\u00a0 Did you sing &#8220;Hosanna&#8221;?\u00a0 Or were you on the No-sanna side?<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s what the gospel writers had to say (they ALL acknowledged the triumphal entry):<\/p>\n<p>Matthew 21: 9 &#8220;<strong>Hosanna<\/strong> to  the Son of David!  Blessed is he who comes in the  name of the Lord! <strong>Hosanna<\/strong> in the highest!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Luke 19:38 &#8220;saying, &#8220;Blessed is the King who comes in the  name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!&#8221;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mark 11:9-10 &#8220;And those who went before and those who followed were shouting,  &#8220;<strong>Hosanna<\/strong>!   Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!\u00a0 Blessed is  the coming  kingdom of  our father  David!  <strong>Hosanna<\/strong> in the highest!&#8221;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>John 12:13 &#8220;So they took branches of  palm trees and went out to meet him, crying  out,  &#8220;<strong>Hosanna<\/strong>! Blessed is  he who comes in the name of the Lord,  even  the King of Israel!&#8221;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m happy to say that our church was on the Hosanna! side with the following songs &#8220;All Glory, Laud and Honor&#8221; and &#8220;Crown Him with Many Crowns&#8221; (no hosannas but still on point), and &#8220;Lord, I Lift Your Name On High&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>All Glory, Laud and Honor<\/strong><br \/>\nVerse 1<br \/>\nAll glory, laud and honor<br \/>\nTo Thee, Redeemer, King,<br \/>\nTo whom the lips of children<br \/>\nMade sweet hosannas ring:<br \/>\nThou art the King of Israel,<br \/>\nThou David&#8217;s royal Son,<br \/>\nWho in the Lord&#8217;s name comest,<br \/>\nThe King and Blessed One.<\/p>\n<p>Verse 2<br \/>\nThe company of angels<br \/>\nAre praising Thee on high,<br \/>\nAnd mortal men and all<br \/>\nThings created make reply:<br \/>\nThe people of the Hebrews<br \/>\nWith palms before Thee went:<br \/>\nOur praise and prayer and anthems<br \/>\nBefore Thee we present.<\/p>\n<p>Verse 3<br \/>\nTo Thee before Thy passion<br \/>\nThey sang their hymns of praise<br \/>\nTo Thee now high exalted<br \/>\nOur melody we raise<br \/>\nThou didst accept their praises<br \/>\nAccept the praise we bring<br \/>\nWho in all good delightest<br \/>\nThou good and gracious King<\/p>\n<p>Verse 4<br \/>\nThou didst accept their praises<br \/>\nAccept the praise we bring<br \/>\nWho in all good delightest<br \/>\nThou good and gracious King<br \/>\nAll glory laud and honor<br \/>\nTo Thee Redeemer King<br \/>\nTo whom the lips of children<br \/>\nMade sweet hosannas ring<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On which side of the coin was your church yesterday?\u00a0 Did you sing &#8220;Hosanna&#8221;?\u00a0 Or were you on the No-sanna side?
