{"id":58,"date":"2010-03-28T15:33:19","date_gmt":"2010-03-28T19:33:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/?p=58"},"modified":"2010-03-28T15:33:19","modified_gmt":"2010-03-28T19:33:19","slug":"more-peace","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/2010\/03\/28\/more-peace\/","title":{"rendered":"More peace &#8211; abundant peace"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/2010\/03\/26\/peace\/\" target=\"_blank\">Remember<\/a> Isaiah  quoted God as saying &#8220;There is no peace for the wicked&#8221; and Paul said  that &#8220;He (Jesus) himself is our peace&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The Psalmist follows these same lines in Psalm 37, and even manages to provide a concept Jesus will use in one of His sermons recorded in Matthew.\u00a0 In Psalm 37:10-11 we read &#8220;In just a little while, the   <em>wicked will be no more<\/em>; though you look carefully at his  place, he will not be there. <strong>But the meek shall inherit the land<\/strong> and  delight themselves <strong>in abundant peace<\/strong>.&#8221;\u00a0 Here we see the real deal for the wicked as opposed to God&#8217;s chosen.\u00a0 Watch the progression in the following sections of Psalm 37.<\/p>\n<p>In verse 8, he had this to say &#8220;Refrain from anger, and  forsake  wrath!\u00a0 Fret not yourself; it tends only to  evil.\u00a0 For the  <em>evildoers shall be cut off<\/em>, <strong>but those who wait for the LORD shall inherit  the land.<\/strong>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Then again in verse 21 &#8220;The wicked borrows but  does not pay  back, but the righteous is generous and gives; <strong>for those blessed  by the LORD shall  inherit the land, <\/strong>but <em>those  cursed by him shall be cut off.<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Again in verse 27, &#8220;Turn away from evil  and do good; so shall you dwell forever.\u00a0 For the LORD loves justice; he  will not forsake his saints.\u00a0 They are preserved  forever, but <em>the children of the wicked shall be cut off.<\/em> <strong>The righteous shall inherit  the land <\/strong>and <strong>dwell upon it forever<\/strong>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in Psalm 37:39-40 the Psalmist concludes &#8220;The salvation of the  righteous <strong>is  from the LORD<\/strong>; he is their stronghold in the  time of trouble.\u00a0 The  LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from  the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>What a great place to find refuge!<\/p>\n<p>Are you reading through the Bible this year?\u00a0 Have you ever?\u00a0 You should.\u00a0 Read along with me with this plan.<a href=\"https:\/\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/ReadIt.pdf\"> ReadIt<\/a><\/p>\n<p><span><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remember Isaiah quoted God as saying &#8220;There is no peace for the wicked&#8221; and Paul said that &#8220;He (Jesus) himself is our peace&#8221;.
