{"id":579,"date":"2011-02-07T20:12:02","date_gmt":"2011-02-08T01:12:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/?p=579"},"modified":"2011-02-07T20:12:02","modified_gmt":"2011-02-08T01:12:02","slug":"lessons-from-xlv","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jdackerman.com\/miscellany\/2011\/02\/07\/lessons-from-xlv\/","title":{"rendered":"Lessons from XLV"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>These lessons aren&#8217;t mine &#8211; I didn&#8217;t watch much of the game, only snippets during commercials.\u00a0 And, when you&#8217;re watching a DVD, there aren&#8217;t many commercials.\u00a0 Instead, they are from <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/stephenaltrogge\" target=\"_blank\">Stephen Altrogge<\/a>, who posted five life lessons he learned from the latest super bowl.\u00a0 Oddly enough, none of them had anything to do with the national anthem!<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the fifth and final one, with which I couldn&#8217;t agree more, being a Lions fan and all.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><strong>&#8220;I\u2019m grateful that my joy is in Jesus not ultimately in football. <\/strong>Notice I said \u2018not <em>ultimately\u2019<\/em>.  I like football a whole lot, and I was dishing out my share of high  fives and over-enthusiastic screams when Pittsburgh scored. But in the  end they lost. Which stinks.
