We find it hard to define worship, to understand it. We pigeonhole our worship into 15 to 30 minutes on any given Sunday morning when we actually make time in our busyness to go to church, but that is so very insufficient!<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;&#8230; worship is the submission of all our nature to God. It is<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the quickening of conscience <em>by His holiness<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li>the nourishment of mind <em>with His truth<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li>the purifying of imagination <em>by His beauty<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li>the opening of the heart <em>to His love<\/em>;<\/li>\n<li>the surrender of will <em>to His purpose<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2014and all of this gathered up in adoration, the most selfless emotion of which our nature is capable and therefore the chief remedy for that self-centeredness which is our original sin and the source of all actual sin. Yes\u2014worship in spirit and truth is the way to the solution of perplexity and to the liberation from sin.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Worship is so much more than the songs we sing, whether current top of the chart hits or hundreds of years old. Worship is not the gift we put in the plate on Sunday, but the gift we offer daily, of our whole life.
