Hallelujah!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I got a new CD for Christmas &#8211; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/playlist?list=PLdTdG_Nge0UbWX4HZmXvPTQYJYp-2Em67\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hymns for a Modern Reformation<\/a>. The text was all written by Dr. James Montgomery Boice, who was pastor at Philadelphia&#8217;s Tenth Presbyterian Church for 32 years until his death in June 2000.\u00a0 These 12 hymns were his last project, done with Dr. Paul Jones, organist and music director at the same church.<\/p>\n<p>These really are hymns &#8211; all have four or five verses and are done by the church choir, organist and Westminster Brass.\u00a0 Because of that, they&#8217;re not for everyone, especially those of you who can only sing or enjoy music with a guitar and drum set.\u00a0 If that&#8217;s the case, it&#8217;s your loss.\u00a0 You really need to expand your horizons.<\/p>\n<p>Here are a couple verses from two different hymns.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Hallelujah!<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>What can separate my soul<br \/>\nFrom the God who made me whole,<br \/>\nWrote my name in Heaven&#8217;s scroll?<br \/>\nNothing. Hallelujah!<\/p>\n<p>Victors we&#8217;re ordained to be<br \/>\nBy the God who set us free;<br \/>\nWhat can therefore conquer me?<br \/>\nNothing. Hallelujah!<\/p>\n<p>We face death for God each day;<br \/>\nWhat can pluck us from His way?<br \/>\nLet God&#8217;s people ever say,<br \/>\n&#8220;Nothing.&#8221; Hallelujah!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Come to the Waters<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Come to the waters, whoever is thirsty;<br \/>\nDrink from the Fountain that never runs dry.<br \/>\nJesus, the Living One, offers you mercy,<br \/>\nLife more abundant in boundless supply.<\/p>\n<p>Come to the well of unmerited favor;<br \/>\nStretch out your hand; fill your cup to the brim.<br \/>\nJesus is such a compassionate Savior.<br \/>\nDraw from the grace that flows freely from him.<\/p>\n<p>Come to the Savior, the God of salvation.<br \/>\nGod has provided an end to sin&#8217;s strife.<br \/>\nWhy will you suffer the Law&#8217;s condemnation?<br \/>\nTake the free gift of the water of life.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a9 TenthMusic, 2000.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got a new CD for Christmas &#8211; Hymns for a Modern Reformation.
