From Acts 2<\/a> – Peter is speaking to the crowds in Jerusalem at Pentecost, attesting to what had happened just a few days before, but prophesied by David hundreds of years before in Psalm 16<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“…Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know \u2014 this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death<\/strong>, because it was not possible for him to be held by it<\/strong>. For David says concerning him,<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope.
For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
or let your Holy One see corruption.
You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.\u2019<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBrothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. This Jesus God raised up<\/strong>, and of that we all are witnesses.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

That’s why Luke reported<\/a> an earlier conversation the angels had at Jesus’ tomb:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhy do you seek the living among the dead?\u00a0<\/sup>He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man\u00a0must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and\u00a0be crucified and on\u00a0the third day rise.\u201d <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Celebrate the risen Christ today! Remember what Paul told Timothy<\/a>: “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners”.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is RISEN!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
