The Psalmist was in the midst of a personal thought crisis, and really wanted to speak his piece. But he didn’t, at least not immediately. He waited until his crisis had been resolved. Then he went back and wrote this wonderful treatise on God’s love, God’s sovereignty, God’s eternal provision. <\/p>\n
As he retells the story, he leads off with his findings, just so we aren’t “betrayed”.<\/p>\n
Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
He goes on to explain the reason for his thought crisis, and then tells how it was resolved.<\/p>\n
…until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I discerned…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
What did he do? He went to church. He surrounded himself with the people of God. He immersed himself in the teachings of God’s Word. He worshipped the Lord God Almighty. Then, and only then, did he get the answer to his crisis. No Oprah, no Dr Phil. The sanctuary of God.<\/p>\n
He ends with these words:<\/p>\n
But for me it is good to be near God; I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all your works.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
