H. Spurgeon in 1866.\u00a0 This version is a reprint by Pilgrim Publications, BOX 66, PASADENA, TEXAS 77501.\u00a0 It has the text for 1,060 hymns <em>(all written prior to 1866).<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">The second is equally exciting: &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.graceandtruthbooks.com\/product\/divine-and-moral-songs-for-children\" target=\"_blank\">Divine And Moral Songs For  Children<\/a>,&#8221; by Isaac Watts.\u00a0 This includes not only the text, but music as well, and is published by Cumberland Missionary Society, P.O. Box 912 Concordville, Pennsylvania 19331.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the words to one of the songs for children by Isaac Watts, entitled &#8220;<strong>The Sluggard<\/strong>.&#8221;\u00a0 It&#8217;s in the section aptly named &#8220;A Slight Specimen of Moral Songs.&#8221;\u00a0 The tune is the same as the familiar hymn &#8220;How Firm A Foundation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>1. &#8216;Tis the voice of the sluggard; I heard him complain,&#8221;You have waked me too soon, I must slumber again.&#8221;\u00a0 As the door on its hinges, so he on his bed,\u00a0 Turns his sides, and his shoulders, and his heavy head.<\/p>\n<p>2. &#8220;A little more sleep, and a little more slumber;&#8221;\u00a0 Thus he wastes half his days, and his hours without number; And when he gets up, he sits folding his hands, Or walks about saunt&#8217;ring, or trifling he stands.<\/p>\n<p>3. I passed by his garden, and saw the wild brier, The thorn and the thistle grow broader and higher:\u00a0 The clothes that hang on him are turning to rags; And his money still wastes, till he starves or he begs.<\/p>\n<p>4. I made him a visit, still hoping to find He had took better care for improving his mind; He told me his dreams, talked of eating and drinking; But he scarce reads his Bible, and never loves thinking.<\/p>\n<p>5. Said I then to my heart, &#8220;Here&#8217;s a lesson for me, This man&#8217;s but a picture of what I might be;\u00a0 But thanks to my friends for their care in my breeding, Who taught me betimes to love working and reading.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ll share more from each as I read through them.\u00a0 Now, it&#8217;s time to bed with a book.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two more books were delivered today, and I am really looking forward to working through them.
