Closely associated with the Hebrew word \u201cchavah\u201d, meaning \u201cto live\u201d or \u201clife\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Yireh:\u00a0From the Hebrew root word ra\u2019ah, meaning to see, to see to it, to provide (prevision\/provision)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>The Lord Will Provide<\/h2>\n<p>Abraham had a dilemma. After what he had lived through so far, he finally had faith in God, great, unquestioning faith. But this day, God asked Abraham to do the unthinkable.<\/p>\n<h3>The story behind YHWH Yireh<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Elohim tested Abraham <i>(Genesis 22:1)<\/i><\/li>\n<li>Isaac was Abraham\u2019s only son, of miraculous provision and promise<br \/>\n<i>(Genesis 21:1-2, Genesis 22:2a)<\/i><\/li>\n<li>They journeyed to the mountain <i>(Genesis 22:2b-4)<\/i>\n<ul>\n<li><i>Mount\u00a0Moriah, based on the same root Hebrew word \u201cra\u2019ah\u201d<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i><\/i>The mountain on which Jerusalem (and the temple) was to be built<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Isaac questioned Abraham\u00a0<i>(Genesis 22:7)<\/i>\n<ul>\n<li>Where is the lamb?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Abraham knew God had a plan as he followed God\u2019s command\n<ul>\n<li>Provide a substitutionary lamb <i>(Genesis 22:8)<\/i><\/li>\n<li>Raise Isaac from the dead <i>(Hebrews 11:17-19)<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>After many faith failures, Abraham was poised to act on his <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">faith<\/span><em id=\"__mceDel\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><br \/>\n<em id=\"__mceDel\"><i>(Genesis 22:9-10, James 2:21-23)<\/i><\/em><\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>YHWH Yireh and The Lamb and \u201cthe rest of the story\u201d<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The Angel of the Lord speaks <i>(Genesis 22:11)<br \/>\n<\/i>Remember, The Angel of the Lord is not merely any angel, but a theophany <i>(the appearance of God in a visible form to a human being)<\/i>, or preincarnate manifestation of Jesus.<\/li>\n<li>The Angel of the Lord called Abraham&#8217;s name (twice)<\/li>\n<li>The Angel of the Lord stops Abraham <i>(Genesis 22:12, Romans 8:32)<\/i><\/li>\n<li>YHWH Yirej\/Jehovah Jireh provides the substitutionary lamb <i>(Genesis 22:13, John 1:29)<\/i><\/li>\n<li>The Lord has provided, The Lord is providing, The Lord will provide<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b><i>God continues to do the unthinkable.
