It is based on John 9:1-4 and Psalm 104:23.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>As He was passing by, He saw a man blind from birth. His disciples questioned Him: \u201cRabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?\u201d\u00a0\u201cNeither this man nor his parents sinned,\u201d Jesus answered. \u201cThis came about so that God\u2019s works might be displayed in him.\u00a0<strong><em>We must do the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night is coming when no one can work.<\/em>\u00a0<\/strong>As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.\u201d<br \/>\n<em>John 9:1-4 <em>HCSB<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Man goes out to\u00a0his\u00a0work and to his labor until\u00a0evening.<br \/>\n<em>Psalm 104:23<\/em> <em>HCSB<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Coghill was eighteen years old when she wrote this hymn, and from what I can tell, this is the only hymn she wrote.
