Getting ready for small group lesson tomorrow night. This is how the text begins:
“In addition, my brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. To write to you again about this is no trouble for me and is a safeguard for you.” Philippians 3:1 CSB
Paul seems to be saying that, no matter what is going on around you, rejoice. And don’t just rejoice, but rejoice in the Lord! Don’t let the things of the world eclipse your joy in the Lord. But it’s not just “in addition”. It’s “finally”, or even “above all”, because only that joy, the joy that comes from Christ, is of any value.
