An Alaskan cruise.  Imagine that!

We took a Princess Cruise from Vancouver to Whittier, then continued on land to Denali and the on to Fairbanks.

The itinerary was pretty basic:

Day 1: We left Pellston Airport at 6:30 AM July 27, through Detroit to Vancouver, BC.  We boarded the Choral Princess, met up with the rest of the family, and the ship left port that evening.

Day 2, Tuesday: At sea all day

Day 3, Wednesday: Spent the morning and early afternoon in Ketchikan

Day 4, Thursday: All day in Juneau

Day 5, Friday: See the sights of Skagway

Day 6/7, Saturday and Sunday: Scenic cruising on Glacier Bay and Scenic Fjord

Day 8, Monday: Whittier to Talkeetna by train, then to Mt. McKinley

Day 9, Tuesday: McKinley to Denali

Day 10, Wednesday: Denali to Fairbanks, including a sternwheeler riverboat cruise

Day 11, Thursday: Travel home Fairbanks - Minneapolis - Detroit - Pellston.  If only it had worked that well.  We did not make it home on day 11.  You'll have to read the story about days 11, 12, 13 and 14.
